District 157-C to Name New Superintendent Monday

The board will hold a special meeting to approve its new leader, March 31 at 7 p.m.

Frankfort District 157-C Board of Education will announce its choice for new superintendent of schools during a special board meeting Monday, March 31.

The chosen candidate was narrowed from a pool of 48 applicants. The board interviewed final candidates last month, and the new Superintendent is scheduled to start this summer, according to staff.

Search firm BWP & Associates presented the board with a slate of candidates narrowed from 48 applicants at a Feb. 17 meeting. The board began the process of hiring a new superintendent in November 2013, following the resignation of Supt. Thomas Hurlburt.

Hurlburt, who served the district since 2009 and had three years remaining on his contract, cited “personal reasons” for his departure, according to his letter of resignation.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., at the Administrative Center, 10480 West Nebraska Street.
