District 157-C Board to Interview Finalists for Superintendent

The finalists have been chosen from a pool of 48 applicants.

Frankfort District 157-C Board of Education will interview eight finalists for the vacant role of superintendent in a special meeting Feb. 27.

The board will interview final candidates in a closed session Thursday, with the new Superintendent set to start this summer, according to staff. The board hopes to have a choice made by its March 24 meeting, according to Board President Chris McFadden.

Search firm BWP & Associates presented the board with a slate of candidates narrowed from 48 applicants at a Feb. 17 meeting. The board began the process of hiring a new superintendent in November 2013, following the resignation of Supt. Thomas Hurlburt.

Hurlburt, who served the district since 2009 and had three years remaining on his contract, cited “personal reasons” for his departure, according to his letter of resignation.
