Students from the high schools in Lincoln-Way School District 210 raised $13,779.26 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during a Pennies for Patients campaign.
The money is used to help patients receive medical treatment and to fund cancer research. Last year, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society helped 70 patients in Will County.
During the campaign, each school competed for a travelling trophy to see who could raise the most money. This year, , which raised $4868.49, earned the trophy.
Madrigal Dinners Run Through Dec. 10 at L-W East
's 11th annual Madrigal Dinner celebration runs through Dec. 10.
Students have rehearsed for the dinners since August, and more than 70 students are involved in the production, including Madrigal singers, Madrigal ladies, troubadours, madrigal Brass, actors and flutes.
Performances are 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8-10 and 10 a.m. Dec. 10. A full-course meal, catered by , will be served.
