D161 Board Approves New Summit Hill Assistant Principal

John Wade, a seventh- and eighth-grade teacher from Kankakee Junior High School, was hired by the board of education Wednesday to be the new assistant principal for Summit Hill Junior High School during a special meeting.

The board approved the hiring of John Wade as the new assistant principal for during a special meeting Wednesday, Aug. 1, according to a district press release.

For 14 years, Wade has been working as a seventh- and eighth-grade language arts and social studies teacher, the release stated. He also has worked as a coach at the school, recently heading up the junior high's summer baseball team.

“We welcome Mr. Wade to District 161," Supt. Barb Rains stated in the release. "He has both instructional and disciplinary strengths that match the goals and objectives of the District.”

Wade will be taking over for Christine Hudziak, who held the position previously. Hudziak was transferred to  in June, .
