2013 Phoenix Graduates: PHOTO GALLERY

The Class of 2013 from Lincoln-Way North High School heard many accolades about their notable successes during commencement exercises June 4.

Retiring Principal Mike Gardner described the class of 300-plus students as having exhibited several traits which defined them in his eyes.

"The most obvious trait to me and the staff at North was their closeness to each other. Some will say that’s not so special, as they all grew up together.  Although many of these seniors have spent 13 years together, a significant number of them have transferred into the North boundaries after beginning their school years at another elementary school, middle school, junior high, or high school.

"Many have come here from other countries. Yet despite the diversity which exists here, the senior class pulled in the same direction, always supporting each other in whatever they attempted, whether it be in the classroom, in activities, or athletics, they were always there for each other. They accepted the differences between each of them. They included everyone into what we know as the class of 2013. They supported each other as a member of the North family and exhibited real closeness."
