14 Schools Compete in Sectional Track Meet: HCMS Fared Well

The Middle School 8 Sectional Meet was help May 11 in Watseka.

All total 14 schools competed oin the Middle School 8 Sectional Track meet May 11 in Watseka.

Hickory Creek Middle School has 23 athletes who will go on to compete at the State Track Meet in East Peoria on May 17-18.  Listed below is the list of athletes who are going to state, along with the other athletes who placed in the top at the Sectional Meet.

Hickory Creek qualifiers for the State Track Meet in East Peoria include:

7th grade girls:  Jillian Gosney: 1st place in high jump, 2nd place in the 4 x 100 relay and the 100 meter dash Alyssa Klawitter: 1st place in the 400 meter dash and 2nd place in the 4 x 100 relay; Calli Hall: 2nd place in the 1600 Meter run; Brittney Kruzel: 2nd place in the 4 x 100 relay; Maddie Wilson: 2nd place in the 4 x 100 relay; Alexa Mikrut : 2nd place in the 4 x 100 relay; Maddie Halliman: 3rd place in shot put.

 Others who placed in the top six at Sectional: Brittany Kruzel:  5th place in the 200 meter dash and 4th in the long jump Claire Hawkinson: fifth in the 1600 meter run; Hannah Barnard, Ally Dalstrom, Natalie La Monto, and Tatum Seibert were 4th in 4 x 200 relay; Ally Dalstrom, Jordan Jacobucci, Claire Hawkinson, and Alyssa Klawitter were 3rd in the 4 x 400 relay; Calli Hall placed 3rd in high jump and the 800 meter run.

8th grade girls:  Sidney Bloomfield:  1st place in hurdles and the 4 x 100 relay; Nicole Humenik: 1st place in the 400 meter dash, 4 x 100 relay, Long jump and 2nd place in the 100 meter dash; Ololade Ayoola 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay, 100 and 200 meter dash and high jump; Moria Murphy: 1st place in the 800 meter run; Ally Chavez: 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay; Emily Scianna: 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay; Lauren La Dere:  1st place in shot put.

Others who placed in the top six at Sectional:  Moria Muphy:  3rd place in 1600 meter run.

7th Grade Boys: Brendan Morrissey: 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay, 3rd in the 100 meter dash; Greyson Cox: 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay, fourth in 100 meter dash and long jump; Juan Rodriquez: 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay and 3rd in the 200 meter dash; Ryan Scianna: 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay; Jake Tencza:  1st place in discus, 3rd place in shot put, and 4th place in the 4 x 400 relay; Brandon Petkoff: 2nd place in high jump, 6th place in the 400 meter dash, and 4th place in the 4 x 400 relay; Michael Herlihy: 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay.

The 8th  grade girls team, 7th grade boys team finished in fourth place.

Others who placed in the top six at Sectional: Colin Brady:  3rd place in the 800 meter run, 4th place in the 4 x 400 relay and 5th place in the 400 meter dash; Frankie DiCosola: 5th in the 110 hurdles and 6th in the 4 x 200 relay; Quinton Stringfellow: 3rd in long jump; Trevor Horn: 4th place in the 4 x 400 relay and 6th place in the 4 x 200 relay; Evan McDermed and Shea McGivern: 6th place in the 4 x 200 relay.

8th Grade Boys: Sam Diehl: 1st place in shot put and 2nd place in discus; Lucas Weaver: 1st place in discus and 4th place in the 4 x 200 relay.

Others who placed in the top six at Sectional: Christian Gulde: 6th place in the 100 and 200 meter dash and 4th place in the 4 x 200 relay; Nick Conces: 6th place in the 400 meter dash and 4th place in the 4 x 200 relay and 5th place in the 4 x 400 relay; Jake West:  6th place in 800 meter run and 5th place in the 4 x 400 relay; Michael Greco, Connor Alexa, Quinton Stringfellow and Zach Parduhn: 6th place in the 4 x 100 relay; Zack Tencza: 4th place in the 4 x 200 relay; Chase Walsh: 5th place in the 4 x 400 relay; Connor Alexa: 5th place in the 4 x 400 relay; Jake Taylor: 5th place in shot put.
