Frankfort Residents Invited to Preservation Foundation's Free Ice Cream Social

Frankfort Residents Invited to Free Ice Cream Social on August 26 by the Frankfort Preservation Foundation and Frankfort Area Historical Society

The Frankfort Preservation Foundation and the Frankfort Area Historical Society invite Frankfort residents to the annual ice cream social, this Sunday, August 26, from 4-6 p.m. at the Founders Center, 140 Oak Street. Your free admission gets you a free Culver's ice cream sundae, free entertainment by the Lincolnway East High School jazz combo, free kids activities and up close seating for the famed PieLympics.

This year Frankfort dentist Al "Mad Dog" Heath hopes to improve his standing in the competition, having only joined the pie-eating circuit in 2011. "I had to hold back a little," Heath said of his first year performance. "You can't just go out and win the first time."

Heath is also hoping that John "Underdog" Herder makes an appearance. Herder, who trains in secret at an out of town location, is rumored to be going for gold (once again) this year.

Area residents are encouraged to form 2-person adult teams to challenge Herder and Heath. Call Chip at 815-370-8111. Youth can simply register on site the day of the event on a first come, first served basis.
