Join author Rachel Gilmore on Saturday, May 4, for "Stories behind the Storefronts," a walking history tour of Frankfort's downtown business district. Sharing anecdotes from her book research, Gilmore will offer guests a glimpse into Frankfort's often quirky, mostly charming, evolution from little town on the prairie to thriving Chicago suburb.
Participants will gather at the Frankfort Area Historical Society at 12:30 p.m. The museum will be open for viewing, and Images of America: Frankfort will be for sale (or bring your book along if you already purchased a copy). We'll head out at 1:00 p.m. for a 2 hour walking tour around downtown, ending back at the Pickwick Society Tearoom for tea and scones.
*Please wear comfortable walking shoes and feel free to bring your book for reference.
