Mariano's a Board Vote Away From Coming to Frankfort

The Frankfort Plan Commission recommended Thursday that the village board approve plans to build an upscale grocery store at 21001 S. LaGrange Road.

For about three months now, village officials and the developers for Mariano's Fresh Market have been meeting to hammer out the details that would bring a location of the high-end grocery store chain to Frankfort.

The project is scheduled to go before the board for a vote at its Monday, June 4, meeting. If the board approves the project, construction could begin as early as this summer with a target date of opening in spring 2013. .

Along with village board approval, to buy a parcel of land on the east side of LaGrange Road, north of Lincoln Highway, that includes the restaurant, the former Town Center bank and two houses. If the sale goes through, owners, brothers Harry and Bob D'Ercole, wouldn't shut down the popular Frankfort eatery. Instead, they would find a new location for the restaurant.
