Frankfort Mayor Warns Residents About Parking on Snowy Streets

Not finding your car where you left it is "not a pleasant experience," said Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland.

If a couple inches of snow parks itself on Frankfort's streets, drivers better make sure their cars aren't sitting in it.

"The plow operators and the police have been very patient with our residents," Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland said at the village's board meeting Monday night.

"At some point here when we get a real snowfall, you're going to find your car gone, and that's not a pleasant experience," the mayor cautioned.

Holland included a "parking reminder to residents" in his report to the village board.

"Parking is prohibited on local roads when a 2-inch snowfall occurs," the mayor said in his report. "This allows our public works crews to safely remove snow and ice from our roads. Also, parents are asked to keep their children away from the streets and the snowplows when the crews are in the process of clearing the roads of snow."
