Frankfort Breaks Ground on Village Hall Expansion

Work has begun on Frankfort's new $4 million Village Hall. 

Mayor Jim Holland and trustees Dick Trevarthan, Cindy Heath, Todd Morgan, Doug Walker, Mike Stevens, Bob Kennedy and Village Clerk Keith Ogle proudly gathered on April 28, to break ground on the Village’s new expansion project.  

The expansion will include a new board room and community meeting room attached to the existing Village administration building located at Route 45 and Nebraska Street.  

The board expects this facility to accommodate community groups, civic groups, homeowners' associations, the Village Board, the Plan Commission and others who need meeting space well into the future. The construction will also include new public bathrooms, a new lobby, several new offices as well as additional parking and landscaped areas. 

“The Village Board is very pleased to begin the administration building expansion.  Our residents will begin to see construction very soon, and we are confident they will be very pleased with the quality appearance of the structure,” said Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland.

Also present for the groundbreaking ceremony were Gary Hasty and Pete Schipma of Construction Solutions of Illinois (general contractor) and Grant Currier of the Linden Group (architect).

The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2015.
