Election 2012: Was Frankfort an Obama or a Romney Town?

The president captured his home state in Tuesday's election, but how did he fare in Frankfort precincts?

If Frankfort residents had their way, last Tuesday night would have been all about the newly-elected President Mitt Romney.

However, President Barack Obama got the nod nationwide.

The total number of votes cast in all 29 precincts came out in favor of Mitt Romney, who garnered 14,520 ballots compared to 9,988 for Obama, according to data released by the Will County Clerk's Office.

Except for Precincts 14, 15 and 24, voters in Frankfort overwhelmingly favored Romney.

The biggest vote getter for Romney was Precinct 17 where Republican ballots totaled more than twice the number of Democratic votes. Voters there cast 715 votes for Romney compared to 315 for Obama. In Precinct 29, the vote was 695 for Romney compared to 288 for Obama.

In Precinct 15, Obama gained 58 more votes than Romney, with the president receiving 449 votes and Romney receiving 381. In Precinct 14, Obama led by 11 votes and in Precinct 24, the president received 19 more votes than Romney.
