Construction Work Causes Water Loss in Hunter Woods Estates Area

A contractor on the U.S. Route 30 project accidentally broke a water main, said a village official.

Road construction from the U.S. Route 30 widening project caused a water main to break near the Hunter Woods Estates subdivision Monday morning, said a village official.

One of the contractors working to widen Rt. 30 accidentally hit a water main and left many residents in the area without water, said Village Administrator Jerry Ducay. The damage to the main was located, and repairs have started, Ducay said, adding that those residents affected by the break should have water service back.
