Wild Rover Busted by Police for Late Hours

Business owner John Dillon will appear in court for a liquor license violation after his bar remained open after hours on New Year's Day.

The owner of a local bar will appear in court after he allowed patrons to celebrate a little too late into the night on New Year’s Day morning.

John F. Dillon, 25, of the 6600 block of Victoria Drive in Oak Forest, was issued a notice to appear in court for a liquor license violation at 2:47 a.m. Jan. 1 on the 20500 block of La Grange Road.

Frankfort police officers were driving past Dillon’s bar, The Wild Rover, at 2:47 a.m. and saw several people both inside and outside the establishment, according to Frankfort Deputy Police Chief Kevin Keegan.

Typically bars within the village are allowed to remain open until 1 a.m. However, Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland extended bar hours of operation to 2 a.m. on Jan. 1 in honor of the holiday.

Dillon, who had already received a warning about keeping the bar open after hours, was issued a notice to appear in court.

His court date is Feb. 14.
