Vandals Strike at 2 D161 Schools

Silver roofing paint was spilled in the parking lot of Frankfort Square Elementary School, and down spouts and a roof light sensor were stolen from Summit Hill Junior High School, according to the Will County Sheriff's Office.

Vandals damaged two schools the last week in June, according to reports.

Thirteen gallons of silver roofing paint was spilled onto the parking lot and walking path of on Tuesday, June 26, the report stated. The cost of cleaning up for the paint, which costs $250 a gallon, was unknown, said sheriff's spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer.

On Wednesday, June 27, two down spouts and a light sensor from the roof were stolen from , the sheriff's report stated. A hinge to an electrical box also was broken, according to the report. The down spouts cost $200, and the sensor was estimated at $50, Hoffmeyer said, adding that the damage to the hinge was estimated at about $10.
