Trial Date For Frankfort Doctor Facing Sex Case Might Be Set Next Month

A year after his arrest, Frankfort pediatrician Kishor Jain's trial date may be set.

A prosecutor plans to ask for a trial date in the sex case against Frankfort pediatrician Kishor Jain.

Jain, 60, appeared in Will County court Tuesday morning for a pretrial hearing. Special prosecutor Dave Neal said he expects to ask for a trial date when Jain returns to court next month.

Jain was arrested in February and faces 10 counts of felony criminal sexual abuse, five counts of misdemeanor battery, and a single count of criminal sexual assault for allegedly groping five women while working at the Hedges Clinic. Jain stopped working at the clinic soon after he was hit with the charges.

Before he was arrested, Jain was named in the first of what turned into four civil lawsuits alleging he groped, fondled and sexually assaulted women while working as a doctor. A fifth lawsuit accuses Jain of sexually assaulting a minor child.

To make matter worse for Jain, the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation then suspended his medical license indefinitely after he refused to testify at a hearing.
