Judge Will Hear Charges Against Former D210 Employee On Same Day

Michael Angel, a former District 210 employee accused of trespassing and of running from a Frankfort police officer a few days later, will go before a judge on both charges on March 9.

Separate cases against a former employee accused of trespassing will be heard at the same time in March, with the possibility of being resolved collectively.

Michael Angel, 42, of Frankfort, was after being fired.

He pleaded guilty in mid-August, receiving one year of supervision, but failed to show to subsequent status hearings in late August and November. Prosecutors were looking to modify the terms of a settlement giving Angel permission to coach youth football on school grounds on certain weekends.

Days later, after allegedly with a warrant, Angel was dragged before a judge via video and charged also with obstructing justice.

Angel’s new attorney has filed a motion to dismiss the warrant on the grounds that his old attorney never informed his client of either follow up hearing.

So long as the new charge can be settled with the state and all relevant fees are paid for the old, then the original plea and sentence of supervision might stand, Will County Associate Judge Marzell Richardson said Wednesday.

Angel had paid $600 but still owed $75 in administrative fees at the time of his last hearing.

He’s scheduled back in court on March 9.

This fellow is a coach for the Falcons Football league. Many of us parents want to know how the Falcons board finds this man as an appropriate coach, i.e. a mentor and leader to our young kids? Here is a snippet from a Patch article from last year, "...security guard at Central had seen Angel's vehicle, a white Dodge van, parked at the school on multiple occasions. At about 3 a.m. on April 19, the security guard saw the van again and took down the license plate number to report to police. I don't know about you but this is very suspicious activity... :
