Tinley Cop Hurt During Rear-End Crash in Frankfort

The officer complained of back and neck pain after his squad car was hit from behind on Oct. 7.

A Tinley Park cop is recovering at home after a rear-end crash on Oct. 7.

An 18-year-old Frankfort woman was cited for following too closely after her car struck the rear end of a Tinley Park squad car that stopped in front of her, Will County police said. The crash happened at the intersection of West 191st Street and 80th Avenue.

The officer was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox for back and neck pain, police said.

Tinley Park police confirmed that the officer was treated in the emergency before returning home.

Police did not release the name of the officer.
