The New Lenox cops reportedly thwarted an attempted theft from Target on Christmas Eve.
A Steger woman was charged with retail theft in connection with the incident at the East Lincoln Highway Target. Tiffany Irons, 24, of 3736 Union Ave. was taken into custody shortly before 12:30 p.m.
An officer sent to the store was reportedly told "Irons removed merchandise from the shelf, concealed it in her cart and left the store without paying for it," police said.
Irons was released after posting bond.
