Sheriff's Office Seizes About $25K Worth of Pot From Mokena Man

After a two-month investigation, the Will County Sheriff's Office confiscated 11 pounds of marijuana and $3,900 from home of Pete H. Mavrakis.

The Will County Sheriff's Office seized about $25,000 worth of marijuana from the home of a Mokena man Thursday afternoon, according to a sheriff's office press release.

Pete H. Mavrakis, 30, of the 11600 block of Blackhawk Court in Mokena, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug equipment. He is due in court this afternoon.

The sheriff's Gang Supression Unit, along with members of the Romeoville and Shorewood police departments, executed a search warrant at Mavrakis's house Thursday where they found about 11 pounds of marijuana and $3,900 in cash, the release stated. The warrant was the result of a two-month investigation of Mavrakis, according to the sheriff's office.
