Construction Supplies Stolen from Unlocked Shed

The sheriff's office received a report that 70 steel sidewalk forms and 200 long-form pins were stolen from an unlocked shed in the 26000 block of West Shepley Road sometime between Nov. 1, 2010, and Aug. 6.

Mystery of the Hole in the Pool Liner

Vandals used an unknown object to make a hole in the liner of a swimming pool in the 20000 block of South Ellen Lane sometime between July 30 and Aug. 5.

Brick Takes Out Vehicle Window             

The sheriff's office received a report of a landscaping brick thrown through the rear window of a vehicle at the 19000 block of South Arran Drive. The vehicle's antenna also was broken.

Unknown Man Tries to Lure Away Teen Girl

A 13-year-old reported to Will County Sheriff deputies that a man tried to lure her toward him by whistling at her several times around 4 p.m. on Aug. 1 while she was riding her bike around the track at Summit Hill Junior High School, in the 7200 block of West North Avenue. The girl said the man appeared fidgety and that she had seen him watching her ride her bike at the school two times before during the previous week, according to the sheriff's report. The man is said to be 20 to 30 years old, average height, medium build, with short, blond crew-cut hair, "similar to Eminem," the report said. He drives a large, older model, four-door, bluish-gray sedan, according to the report.
