Sheriff's Blotter: Teen Beaten in Front of Tobacco Shop

Six Cars Hit by Vandals, Thieves

Six incidents of vandalism and burglaries to cars in the Frankfort Square area were reported the same day, but the Will County Sheriff's Office doesn't know if they are connected. The incidents happened overnight and included:

  • a shattered driver's side window of a vehicle in the 7800 block of West Frankfort Square Road
  • a stolen radar detector and iPod from an unlocked vehicle in the 20000 block of South Timber Mill Drive
  • a stolen GPS unit from an unlocked vehicle in the 20000 block of South Timber Mill Drive
  • a shattered windshield and one side window of a vehicle in the 20000 block of South Pine Hill Road
  • damage to the windshield of a vehicle in the 20000 block of South Newberry Avenue
  • a side mirror broken off and a shattered windshield of a vehicle in the 7900 block of Farmhouse Road.

Teen Beaten in Front of Tobacco Shop

A 19-year-old man was punched and kicked by three men after he parked his car outside Joe's Tobacco & Cigar on St. Francis Road. According to the Will County Sheriff's report, the teen was driving on Frankfort Square Road at about 3 p.m., playing music, when several men began yelling at him that the music was too loud. The teen continued driving and parked at Joe's Tobacco & Cigar, where three men came up to his car as he got out, the report said. The men pushed the teen to the ground and punched and kicked him until someone broke up the attack, according to the report. The teen refused medical attention, the report said.
