Chicago Heights Woman Faces Forgery Charge

Asia S. Moreno, 20, of the 300 block of West 17th Street in Chicago Heights, was arrested on forgery charges, police said, after she tried to cash a check at  for $1,980 from a Community Heating and Cooling business account. The account was flagged because three fake payroll checks had been cashed the previous week.

Credit Cards Falsely Opened Under Resident's Name

A resident reported seven credit cards opened fraudulently in his name after he began receiving credit cards in the mail that he did not apply for. Four of the cards had charges for $4,500, $6,600, $584 and $500.
