Police Blotter: Monee Man Avoids Deer; Can't Avoid Crash or Ticket

SATURDAY, MAY 19

Two Charged With Public Intoxication

James A. Grana, 26, of the 200 block of Pine Street in Joliet, and William D. Schafer, 25, of the 9400 block of Birch Avenue in Mokena, were charged with public intoxication after an incident with Frankfort Police in the 19900 block of LaGrange Road. Schafer also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The next court date for the two is June 14.

Naperville Man Faces DUI, Traffic Charges

Ryan A. Hewitt, 22, of the 2500 block of Ryan Court in Naperville, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding in a construction zone and driving on the wrong side of road after a traffic stop near the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Wolf Road. Hewitt was released on bond, and his next court date is June 6.

Two L-W Teens Cited for Booze, Drug Gear

Theodore C. Fellios, 18, of the 19000 block of Union Street in Mokena, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol, possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment after an incident in the 11700 block of Flagstone Turn. A 17-year-old Frankfort boy also was charged with illegal consumption by a minor and possession of drug equipment. The next court date for the two is June 14.

Monee Man's Car Goes Airborne to Avoid Deer

Daniel A. Siemsen, 18, of the 9100 block of West Pauling Road in Monee, was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after losing control of his vehicle near the intersection of South 104th Street and West Steger Road. Siemsen's car struck a ditch, went airborne and landed on its roof, according to a Will County Sheriff's Office report. Siemsen, who did not have any life-threatening injuries, told sheriff's deputies he tried to avoid hitting a deer when he lost control of his vehicle, the report stated.

University Park Man Served With Warrant

Ashanti A. Adams, 40, of the 700 block of Red Oak Lane in University Park, was served with an outstanding Cook County warrant in the 21300 block of Plank Trail Drive. He was released on bond.
