Bounced Check Gets Frankfort Man Arrested

Dwight E. Smith, 47, of Frankfort, was arrested at 12:34 p.m. for trying to cash a $1,000-check from a closed account at the Currency Exchange at 82 Illinois St in Chicago Heights. A Currency Exchange employee called police when Smith attempted to cash the check, and he was taken to CHPD and placed on hold for detectives, who were notified of the incident. The check was taken as evidence.

Unknown Person Keys Car in Frankfort, Sets Fire to Barrel

An unknown person set fire to a rain barrel and keyed a vehicle at a residence on the 25000 block of Canal Rd N in Frankfort. Will County Sheriff's officers found the barrel destroyed and the vinyl siding of the nearby home discolored.
