New Lenox Cops Say One Thief Caught But Also Tell of the One That Got Away

A woman was charged with stealing from the New Lenox Walmart but somebody else got away with it ... for now.

The New Lenox cops said they went one-for-two in recent theft cases at the local Walmart.

On Sunday evening, the police said they apprehended Sharon Hudson, 49, of 2118 Digby Drive in New Lenox after she stole from the East Lincoln Highway superstore.

An officer sent to the Walmart to investigate a complaint of retail theft was told "Hudson had removed merchandise from the shelf, concealed the merchandise and left the store without paying for it."

Hudson was released after she posted bond.

Things didn't go so well for the law-abiding four days earlier when a thief slipped off with stolen "merchandise," police said.

In that case, an officer was told "an unknown person removed merchandise from the store and left without paying for it."

The unsolved crime was sent to the police department's investigations division for review.
