Mokena Man Arrested After Dance-Floor Assault at CD&ME

Robert N. Startz, 28, is accused of beating up a 29-year-old Minooka man Aug. 26 over an argument about Startz's wife.

A Mokena man beat up another man on the dance floor of CD&ME, according to the Will County Sheriff's Office, in a dispute over the accused assailant's wife.

Robert N. Startz, 28, of the 10700 block of First Court, faces battery charges, police said, after he repeatedly punched a 29-year-old Minooka man Aug. 26 at the Frankfort night spot in the 23300 block of LaGrange Road. 

The beating stemmed from an argument between Startz and the Minooka man over Startz's wife, according to the report. Startz approached the victim and began striking him several times in the face. A witness said Startz walked away after the victim fell to the ground, the report stated.

The assault left the victim with facial wounds, and he was taken to St. James Hospital Health Centers in Olympia Fields. Startz suffered cuts on his left hand, which were treated by paramedics.

Startz admitted to beating up the victim to deputies, who took him to the Will County Jail. Bail was set at $1,000 and he was released Aug. 27 on bond. His court date is Sept. 18.
