Light Smoke Coming from House Near Frankfort Square Road: Alert (UPDATE)

The smoke was spotted at the rear of the Moorefield Drive home.

UPDATE: 11:36 a.m. Monday

Frankfort Fire Protection Dist. Chief Larry Rauch said the cause of the fire at 7617 Moorefield in Frankfort Square is still under investigation. No one was home at the time of the fire, which was called in by nearby ComEd workers at 10:30 a.m.

The fire was mostly contained to the back wall of the one-car garage. Damage is estimated between $15,000-$20,000. Home owner Brandon Voight is a Lockport firefighter. He said the family had been camping in Kankakee at the time the fire started. 

Rauch said there was a small fire and some smoke.

Smoke was spotted Monday morning coming from a single-family home in the 7600 block of Moorefield Drive, according to a report.

According to an alert sent out at about 10:41 a.m., light smoke was visible and coming from the rear of the house.
