A Frankfort man was jailed after the police raided his house and allegedly found him possessing child pornography.

Mark B. Smith, 53, was taken from his Lincoln Avenue home Wednesday morning and charged with six counts of possession of child pornography.

Smith also was hit with at least one gun-related charge, a source said. Smith's criminal complaint had not yet been made available.

Smith allegedly downloaded and distributed pornographic images of children as young, as 9 as well as videos of children involved in sexual encounters with adults.

Smith's arrest followed a two-month investigation by village, county, state and federal agencies, according to a statement released by Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow's office.
