Four Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Wolf Road and Rt. 30

An SUV collided with a pickup truck Friday in front of the Wolf Road entrance of Speedway gas station.

Two men and two women were hospitalized Friday after a collision between an SUV and a pickup truck near Wolf Road and U.S. Route 30, according to police and fire officials at the scene.

The four people injured were taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, and the seriousness of their conditions was not known, said Battalion Chief Nick Peters. The individuals were able to get out of their vehicles after the accident and were gathered at the side of Wolf Road when rescue crews arrived, Peters added. The names of the injured were not released.

The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. when the two women in the SUV, heading south on Wolf Road, began to turn in to the entrance of between cars stopped before the intersection, said Sgt. Scott Potter. That's when the Dodge truck, carrying the two men and traveling north on Wolf, hit the SUV, he added.

Police blocked traffic on Wolf Road and Rt. 30 during the clean up, which took about 45 minutes. Fire and rescue crews from the Lincoln-Way area assisted in the accident. Ambulances from New Lenox and Mokena, along with two ambulances from Frankfort, took the injured to the hospital. Officers from the Mokena Police Department also were on the scene.
