Chicago Woman With Flat Tire Catches Traffic Case in New Lenox

A Chicago woman was charged with driving on a suspended license after getting a flat tire in New Lenox.

A New Lenox police officer stopping to help a Chicago woman with a flat tire ended up charging her with driving on a suspended license, police said.

Jeri Hayes, 33, of 8747 S. Honore St. was picked up shortly after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

An officer noticed Hayes had a flat near the junction of Interstate 80 and Route 30, police said.

"The officer observed a vehicle driving with a flat tire and stopped the vehicle to render assistance," police said. "The officer discovered that the driver, Hayes, had a suspended license."

Hayes was released after posting bond.
