Blotter: Man Interferes With Burglary Investigation at Own Home
Frankfort Police reports, Sept. 25 • Man cited in hit-and-run accident.

Man Arrested For Obstructing Officer
Nicholas R. Lukas, 20, of the 100 block of Pueblo Court, was arrested at his residence and issued a notice to appear in court on Nov. 8 for obstructing a police officer. Lukas's father, who owns the home, had called Frankfort Police to report a burglary, and officers arrived to investigate at 10:20 a.m. According to the police report, Lukas acted belligerent towards the officers, cursing and yelling at them when he was told to stay outside the perimeter of the crime scene, which they were processing for evidence. Lukas was placed under arrest for obstruction after he walked through the scene and tainted some of the evidence officers were gathering.
Man Cited For Hit-and-Run
David Adkins, 48, of the 400 block of Cottonwood Road, was charged with improper lane use, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to notify authorities of an accident, and striking an unattended vehicle. Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Colorado Avenue in reference to a hit-and-run accident at 10:25 p.m. When they arrived, they were met by a witness who provided a description of the car that had driven away and directed them to the vehicle that was hit, which was parked and unoccupied on the side of the road.

Police found the other car, which had sustained heavy damage, on the 400 block of Cottonwood Road and spoke with the driver, who turned out to be Adkins. He told officers that he fled the scene because he was scared. He was charged and given a Nov. 6 court date.
