It was pretty surprising when Bobby Tezak turned up in the news last week.
Tezak's been out of sight and out of mind for a pretty long time. But now the feds say they are going to put him back in prison for another four months since he hasn't paid his fines and restitution like he was supposed to. It feels like 1994 all over again.
So that was strange enough. And then just a couple days later the Nightcrawler's in court. That's right—Timothy Evans, back in Joliet, the scene of his nocturnal intrusions on so many women's homes more than 10 years ago.
Bobby Tezak and the Nightcrawler—in the same week. Now that's something. Let's take a look at what else was going on during this very special week:
- Lawyers said they are working on a plea deal for Peter Sousan, a 24-year-old Orland Park man charged with carjacking an 88-year-old woman.
- A Downstate man already convicted of threatening to rape and kill Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow was supposed to be taken to an Illinois Department of Human Services mental hospital but was instead left in the county jail for a month.
- A woman serving a prison sentence at Logan Correctional Center shared details of her time locked up in the Will County jail with alleged Hickory Street killers Alisa Massaro and Bethany McKee.
- Massaro and McKee, along with co-defendants Joshua Miner and Adam Landerman, appeared in court. A defense attorney asked for a special prosecutor to investigate how Patch got ahold of shocking police reports and the judge unsealed the case file.
- A man claiming the counter of a Joliet Dunkin' Donuts collapsed and fell on his feet and legs is suing the company.
