$63,000 Worth of Cigarettes Snatched in Tobacco Shop Burglary

About 1,000 cartons of smokes disappeared from a Frankfort business, police said.

About 1,000 cartons of cigarettes were reported stolen from a Frankfort tobacco shop in an overnight burglary.

The owners of Temi Tobacco, 7954 W. Lincoln Hwy., arrived at their store at about 9 a.m. on Oct. 21 and discovered the front door smashed, Will County police said.

Burglars had ransacked the shop, leaving merchandise thrown everywhere, police said. About $300 cash and $63,000 worth of cigarettes were stolen.

Current owners took over the business just 10 days before the break-in, police said.

The investigation remains open. No arrests have been made.
