Who's Your Favorite Frankfort Small Business Owner?

It's National Small Business Week, and in honor of that, we want readers to tell us what village small business owners deserve some recognition.

According to the 2012 presidential proclamation declaring National Small Business Week, the observance is an opportunity to "celebrate the generations of entrepreneurs who have given their all to realize a dream."

The Small Business Administration defines a small business as one that's privately owned with fewer than 500 employees. Look around Frankfort, and from restaurants to boutiques to curio shops, those are pretty much the types of businesses that populate the village.

And behind each of those successful businesses is an owner who has made the retail experience more than just a consumer transaction. It's an owner who not only values his or her customers but also the community around the store or eatery.

So the question I pose to readers: Who are your favorite small business owners in Frankfort? Who has gone out of his or her way to make you feel like you're the most valuable customer in town? Which store owner takes the label "good corporate citizen" seriously and not simply as an empty promise to get a tax break?
