Readers' Choice: Who Is Frankfort's Favorite Florist?

With prom and wedding seasons upon us and Mother's Day right around the corner, residents are looking for a good, local flower shop. Tell us who you're loyal to and vote for that store in our poll.

Nothing screams "last minute" to a prom date than a corsage made up of daisies and dandelions picked from the side of the road. And doesn't your mother deserve something a bit more special than an arrangement that still smells like unleaded gasoline because you picked it up the day before at the corner gas station?

READERS' CHOICE: Find Out Which Businesses are Frankfort Favorites

There's no excuse for either situation, especially since Frankfort has its share of quality florists. But who is your favorite?

Now's your chance to tell readers where you go for all your floral needs and give that flower shop a chance at the title of Frankfort's Most Loved Florist. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Click on the name of the shop below and leave a review.
  2. Make sure you show your support by commenting below, telling us why you love that florist.

My daughters wedding was especially beautiful thanks to Patties Floral Express. Not only were her designs innovative and professional, the flowers were if the highest quality. She took all the worry out of a very special day by moving all the arrangements from the church to the hall as well. Everyone commented on our florals.

Pattie's Floral Express has always seemed to go that one step above and beyond to make your every expectation come out even more spectacular! The quality, attention to detail and professionalism is outstanding!! Always innovative and unique! My son's wedding was AWESOME thanks to Patties! The wedding cake that was made by "a friend of the family" was sprung on us kinda last minute that it would need some embelishments and Pattie came and in 15 minutes decorated it and made it look like we had planned this for months! I was so impressed!! Thanks! Everything was Spectacular!!

I agree with Sue!

I work for the city of Chicago and found it strange that people I work with bought from Patties Floral in the suburbs for events until I saw the arrangements. Every event we have, promotion party to the all too sad and often funeral for our fallen, we order from her. She is without question the best of the best. Best product and best prices. Thank you for showcasing her!!!!

Where is Hearts & Flowers??? Yes, I know they are in Tinley; but through the almost 25 years of business, they have grown in size AND REPUTATION! I know, I have sent many customers there. They have all become regulars.
Joe Vince (Editor) May 02, 2012 at 05:00 AM
@Marifan Drymiller: You answered your own question there. This is for Frankfort florists. But you should definitely leave a review on the listing for Hearts & Flowers in the Tinley Park Patch business director: http://tinleypark.patch.com/listings/hearts-flowers By the way, what's your business? I'm have to say the Flower Cottage. Talk about service above and beyond. And not robbing you for every penny on top of it. My mom was having a really bad week. Her favorite flower is the carnation. I walked in here and asked if I could just buy one caranation. Explained it was for my mom and why. My mom would have been extactic with just the single flower. No frills. But instead, the owner, sent me on my way with a carnation, little baby's breath, greener, then wrapped it in clear plastic and tied a nice ribbon on it. Strangley, that day, I almost ran into Jewel right there. But remembered the florist was right there. Thought a nicer one from the florist would be worth the extra money. Much to my suprise, I was able to brighten my mom's day for less than $2! All that would have been more like $6 at Jewel. Vowed from that day forward that the Flower Cottage would get all my business. A lot of other florists I've been too are willing to do all the extra, and might even smile and chat with me, but they charge me for the extras. Even if she didn't charge me this one time, she did it just for the sentiment of making my mom's day, that really made an lasting impression on me. Yes, I'm rambling here, but its not often I still come across stores with that good old small town service.

Flower cottage has been my florist for years. My son and daughter used them for prom and dances and weddings too and everything was beautiful. Would not go anywhere else.

Tamara G May 09, 2012 at 02:49 AM
Seriously Kim? Who do you work for? So what youre saying, is you want to win by default because youre trying to get someone disqualified? P.S. You cant cheat here.. everyone is entitled to vote as often as they like. I dont really care who wins here, but your comments and accusations are uncalled for Grow up please.
Pattie Alm May 09, 2012 at 02:59 AM
Kim, Sorry this is so upsetting to you that you would actually take the time to make insulting and unfounded accusations.. I did advertise this contest to my customers and facebook friends as well as family.Maybe your time would be better spent writing a nice comment about the florist you want to win rather than making up rumors to prevent someone else from winning.. Sincerely, Pattie
Corri Christensen May 09, 2012 at 03:26 AM
Give it a break, once, twice, three times....makes you a very sore sport! If you want someone to win, vote, have your friends vote and talk them up. That my dear makes it a contest. Can I hear a cheer for who you think should win?... Exactly, vote early and often dear!
Andrea May 09, 2012 at 12:52 PM
First, let me say I am a neutral party here. I have been watching the vote count for a few days now. I find it appalling that someone would be so ridiculous as to accuse people of cheating in a contest such as this... I also find it funny that a certain florist had only 4 votes a few days ago,and had only 334 last night but now has 759 votes, yet are accusing others of cheating?? Its obvious to me that you must not have much to keep you busy during MOTHERS DAY week??? If you have to sit here and repeatedly vote for yourself all night, it speaks volumes. Google your business and read the reviews. Maybe if you got rid of the attitude that so many of your past customers have mentioned in their reviews, you wouldnt have to spend so much time voting for yourself. Dont be a hater because someone is ahead of you. Act like an adult. The posts with the accusations about cheating have been flagged as inappropriate, and will hopefully be removed. Time to put on the big girl panties people!!
Janell Franklin May 09, 2012 at 12:54 PM
Wow Kim, can't handle the pressure? There is no cheating going on.. and quite frankly friends and family are entitled to vote for this contest because they are in fact customers as well. I think that your self absorbed comments should probably stay off this site because you're only belittling yourself.
Angela A May 09, 2012 at 02:04 PM
Wow Kim, that was COMPLETELY uncalled for. I hope The Patch removes you from being able post all together.
Tammy Mancini May 10, 2012 at 12:05 AM
Really People. this behavior needs to stop. This person has taken any fun and excitement out of the contest by being a poor sport who feels that because someones numbers are higher than hers, there must be cheating going on. and Now she has stooped to the level of personally attacking someones family members? If everyone flags her comments as inappropriate, maybe we can get rid of the hatefulness all together. This contest is not supposed to be nasty, and if "Kim" is hoping to gain clients by posting these hateful things, she is definitely going about it the wrong way. I encourage you all to flag these nasty comments, and let her know that she isnt scoring any brownie points this way. "Kim" why not focus your energy on something positive? This is ridiculous.

Flower Cottage all the way. The most compassionate when ordering funeral flowers, they share joy in weddings, proms and other celebrations. I've never had an issue with anyone at their establishment. Always Great customer service. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. They deserve to win!
Janell Franklin May 10, 2012 at 03:30 AM
Is it wrong? Of course it is wrong, how shallow are you going to become to win a contest? If you think these comments are winning you some votes I would think again. First off because there are plenty of people (obvious you are too ignorant to even notice) that support gay marriage and think that people like you are the trash of society. Is it your decision? Is it hurting you? No-- if you don't approve then keep your arrogant comments to yourself because quite frankly they are not needed and definitely are not necessary. Second.. what the heck does this have to do with being the best florist? Are we going back to the day when only a certain race, gender and now gays or straights are allowed to do things? I thought we were over this time... apparently there are still adults that have a lot of growing up to do. Definitely not a way to gain customers because we all know who you are voting for/
Joe Vince (Editor) May 10, 2012 at 04:21 AM
@Everyone: I'd like to apologize for a reader's behavior in this comments section that crossed the line with harassing remarks. I deleted an earlier comment, but that reader's bad behavior escalated, and she has since been banned from commenting. In the past, I've used a national blogger's description of comments sections as dinner parties to characterize the type of atmosphere I try to maintain on Patch. The commenters are the guests, and the site's editor is the host. Debate is encouraged, disagreements are accepted, but rudeness, vulgarity and harassment are not tolerated. Now, resume heaping your praise and support on your favorite florist. In fact, all the florists mentioned here should feel really lucky to have such loyal customers. Joe Vince Local Editor, Frankfort
Tammy Mancini May 10, 2012 at 12:36 PM
Thank you Joe! There is only one more day left.. good luck everyone!
Sam May 10, 2012 at 03:38 PM
Tammy, I agree. The comments posted by that particular person was outrageous. Very sophomoric comments and I for one am glad that person was banned.
