A New Chapter for Frankfort Patch

Anna Schier, the new editor of Frankfort Patch, introduces herself.

Hello Frankfort Patch Readers!

My name is Anna Schier, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Southland Patch team as the new local editor of Frankfort Patch.

As I’m sure many of you know, Joe Vince, Frankfort Patch editor of two years, was recently offered a job editing Tinley Park Patch, which he accepted.

No one could ever replace Joe. Nevertheless, I intend to continue to deliver accurate, relevant reporting to the Frankfort community as the editor of Frankfort Patch.

I may be new to the Southland, but I’m not new to Patch. For the past year, I worked as an assistant editor with Patch in the Twin Cities metro. During that time, I covered everything from arts to schools to city council for Patch sites all over the Minneapolis and St. Paul suburbs.

I also organized several outreach events in Minnesota and have long felt that one of the most rewarding aspects of working with Patch is getting to know the members of the community in which you work.

And although I’ve never lived in the south suburbs before, I am familiar with Chicago. My alma mater is Loyola University Chicago, which is located on the city’s far north side, in Rogers Park.

When I’m not reporting for Patch, I’m reading Victorian novels, going for leisurely bike rides, thrift shopping and occasionally venturing into the city for a museum visit.

I couldn’t be more excited to be starting work at Frankfort Patch. Just a few weeks ago, I visited Frankfort for the first time and Joe gave me a tour of the village. I haven’t been here long, but Frankfort seems like a wonderful place, where residents are passionate about their community and the news that keeps them engaged and informed.

I promise to do my absolute best in reporting that news to you.

I look forward to meeting you all soon!

Anna
