Prestwick golf outing to benefit 157-C students

The community is invited to a golf outing at the beautiful Prestwick Country Club on Monday, August 26, to benefit the students of Frankfort School District 157-C.  The event will be hosted by the  157-C Education Foundation.  All proceeds will directly benefit the children of Grand Prairie Elementary, Chelsea Intermediate and Hickory Creek Middle Schools through teacher-written grants for projects and materials in the areas of art, literacy, technology, math, music, physical education, science, social studies and character-building programs

The event will give community members an opportunity to golf the private country club course for a $150 per person entry fee.  Included will be eighteen holes of golf with a four-person scramble on the Prestwick course, cart, lunch, dinner, entry into a “hole in one” contest and prizes.  The golf outing begins at 12:00 Noon with a shot gun start and registration opens at 10:30 AM with access to practice facilities.  The registration deadline is August 19 via http://www.ef157c.org.  Hole sponsorship is also open to local area businesses and community members.  For information, contact Jennifer Dore at yunks2@msn.com or 815-557-1909.

Established in 1995, the Foundation has a tradition of funding positive growth for the students.  Last fall the Foundation awarded $49,978 in grants to the schools to enhance education.  Some of these grants provided SMARTboards, computer tablets, netbooks, Rebecca Caudill, Monarch and Bluestem books, electronic signage and physical education equipment.
