District 157-C seeks community input in focus group and survey for Superintendent Search

The Frankfort School District 157-C Board of Education has begun the process of hiring a new superintendent to assume duties on July 1, 2014.   BWP and Associates, a national executive leadership search firm, was selected to assist the Board with this important task.  Consultants Dr. Tom Mullins and Dr. Mike Gardner, who have facilitated over 40 superintendent searches in Illinois, will assist the Board with this process. District 157-C is reaching out to parents, community, staff, and businesses to participate in a focus group to identify key characteristics desired in the new superintendent.

Excellent schools are an important asset to our Frankfort families, community and local businesses.  District 157-C is proud of its many successful partnerships. Along with Board members, administrators and staff, the district hopes to include in the focus group several family and community members, as well as representatives from homeowners’ associations, community organizations, civic groups and businesses.  The district is seeking those individuals who share the vision of continuing its history of excellence in education and strong fiscal responsibility.

Community members from District 157-C are invited to participate in the focus group to provide input on this important decision that will affect the future of the students.  The focus group will be facilitated by BWP and Associates on Monday, December 9, 2013, 7:00 p.m. at Hickory Creek Middle School, 22150 West 116th Avenue.  The district would like to develop a good cross-section of individuals to represent all entities, including those with and without children in the schools.  The Board believes the superintendent search will be highly successful with strong community participation.

In addition, on December 6, 2013 an online survey will be posted on the district website, www.fsd157c.org.  District 157-C asks that community members take the time to complete the online survey to provide their feedback to ensure a thorough superintendent search that will result in making a positive impact on the students, schools and community.
