District 157-C Director of Special Services Resignation

At a Special Board meeting held December 6, 2013, the Frankfort School District 157-C Board of Education accepted the resignation of Ms. Carrie Clodi who had served as Director of Special Services since July 1, 2009. 

Since September, Dr. Susan Ireland has been serving as the Interim Director of Special Services while Ms. Clodi was on leave and she will continue in the position for the remainder of this school year. Dr. Ireland brings a wealth of experience as a school administrator, particularly concerning the needs of special education students. In District 157-C she is focusing on supporting students and parents, and the teachers and administrators who work with special needs students every day.

Dr. Ireland worked at the Eisenhower Special Education Cooperative for the last 19 years as the Executive Director and its Administration Center was recently dedicated in her name.  She has also been a teacher leader, disabilities specialist, master teacher leader and special education director.  She serves on numerous task forces, boards and committees throughout the state, is a former President of the Illinois Alliance of Administrators of Special Education (IAASE), and has received numerous certifications and awards.  She earned a doctoral degree from Loyola University of Chicago, a Master of Science degree from the National College of Education and a Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University.  She is currently the Special Education Compliance Monitor for the Illinois State Board of Education and serves as an adjunct professor at Trinity Christian College teaching Special Education Law and Current Challenges.
