Hickory Creek Middle School State track results

School's first ever girls state championship in track and field

 

Congratulations to all of the Hickory Creek athletes who participated at the IESA State Track Meet on May 17 and 18 in East Peoria and special congratulation to the 8th grade girls who placed 4th at this year’s meet with a team score of 25 points.  This is also the first time in school history that a grade level has brought home a trophy from state.

Sidney Bloomfield and Ololade Ayoola brought home the school’s first ever girls state championships in track and field.  Sidney won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.86 and Ololade set a new school record at the state meet with a jump of 5’3”.  At Sectional Sidney broke the school record in hurdles with atime of 15.74.

Nicole Humenik placed 7th in long jump with a jump of 15’ 11” and was 25th overall in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:04.79. At the conference meet Nicole broke the school record with a jump of 16’ 3”.

Sidney Bloomfield, Emily Scianna, Nicole Humenik, Ololade Ayoola and Ally Chavez placed 7th overall in the 4 x 100 relay with a time of 52.73 also a new school record.

Moira Murphy was 26th overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:37.22. Laura La Dere placed 22nd with a throw of 28’ 2 ¼”

Additional results by grade level include:

7th Grade Girls

Jillian Gosney placed 7th overall in high jump with a jump of 4’8” and was 38th overall in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.24.

Maddie Halliman placed 14th in shot put with a throw of 27’ 6”.

The relay team of Brittney Kruzel, Alyssa Klawitter, Alexa Mirkut, and Jillian Gosney , Maddie Wilson were 38th overall with a time of 56.95.

Calli Hall was 39th overall with time of 6:05.37 in the 1600 meter run.

Alyssa Klawitter was 39th overall in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:09.14.

8th Grade Boys

Sammy Diehl placed 11th in discus with a throw of 118’ 6” and  in shot put with a throw of 42’ 5 ½ “.

Lucas Weaver placed 29th in discus with a throw of  102’ 7”.

7th Grade Boys

Brendan Morrissey placed 38th in 100 meter dash with a time of 12.96. 

Brendon Petkoff placed 20th in high jump with a jump of 4’ 10”. 

Jake Tencza placed 21st in Discus with a throw of 95’ 1”.

The  4x 100 relay of Brendan Morrissey, Greyson Cox, Juan Rodriguez, and Ryan Scianna were 3rd overall with a time of 49.35, a new school record.
