After weeks of research, hypothesizing and classroom presentations, students at Hickory Creek Middle School will present their projects to the judges at the school’s annual science fair on Thursday, January 31. The science fair is open to all seventh grade students who are required to complete a science fair project as part of their seventh grade science curriculum. Some eighth grade students chose to complete a science project on their own and they will also participate in the science fair.
Each year, volunteers from District 157-C schools, Lincoln-Way High School, parents, community members and local businesses come forward to help with the judging process. Judging will begin about 3:00 PM.
Outstanding, first place, second place and third place awards will be issued to participants. Students placing in the Outstanding category will qualify to compete at the regional science fair on March 9 at Metea Valley High School in Aurora.
