The community is invited to attend a special Jazz Concert on January 23, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Hickory Creek Middle School, 22150 W. 116th Avenue. The concert is free to the public.
The Hickory Creek Middle School Tiger Jazz Band concert will begin at 6:00 PM. Students will play the songs Cubano Chant, April in Paris, Listen Here, Fat Cat and Bye Bye Blackbird. At 6:30 PM, the Lincoln-Way East Jazz Band will perform and at 7:00 PM, the DePaul University Jazz Band will perform.
During the school day prior to the concert, select Hickory Creek Middle School Jazz Band students will participate in a clinic with Dr. Robert Lark, the Director of Jazz Studies at DePaul. The entire Tiger Jazz Band will also participate in a clinic with Ben Clark, Lincoln-Way East High School Jazz Director.
The clinic is being sponsored by the Yamaha Corporation and by Quinlan and Fabish. The Hickory Creek Middle School Band Booster organization will sponsor the bus transportation costs for the DePaul University Jazz Band. More information is with the school at 815-469-4474.
