District 157-C FSP offers Parent University

Calling all parents who want to learn about parenting in the digital age

Frankfort School District 157-C’s Family School Partnership organization will offer a Parent University on Saturday, February 2 covering “Parenting in the Digital Age.”

The workshop is open to the public and will be held at Hickory Creek Middle School, 22150 S. 116th Avenue in Frankfort from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.  The speaker is Meg Ormiston, a former classroom teacher, parent and author of five books about technology.  She works with schools all across the nation to help them integrate technology into the curriculum.

The workshop will provide practical tips, tricks and strategies to help parents raise responsible digital citizens.   Topics will include parental controls, educational ideas, tips for safe surfing, healthy habits, social networking and kids, and what we know vs what they know.  Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet, cell phone or all three to join the fast-moving formative session.
