157-C Back to School Information

All District 157-C families are invited to attend a “Meet and Greet” program on Monday, August 19, at all schools from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Students can make new connections with their classmates and staff members that they may not have encountered in past years.  The “Meet and Greet” is also an opportunity for children to meet with their classroom teacher.  In addition, all encore and special area staff members will be in the building that day to welcome the students back to school.  Kids are encouraged to bring their school supplies with them so they can begin the process of settling into their new classrooms and lockers.  There will not be a formal presentation by the staff at this event. Instead, Curriculum Night at the child’s school later on will provide detailed information regarding curriculum and school programming.  If parents feel they would benefit from a more in-depth discussion with their child’s classroom teacher regarding their needs and transition to the new school year, please arrange for a separate meeting time with the teacher outside of this event so that enough time can be allotted to meet their needs.
