Students cast ballots during class

Summit Hill Junior High was abuzz on Tuesday,November 6th, over who would be the winner of the 2012 Presidential Election.

As part of their Social Studies classes, students took place in a mock election, casting their votes for either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney.  The students began with learning how to register to vote and then during class they cast their ballots to determine the winner.  Summit Hill Junior High students picked Barack Obama to win the election.  As their teacher, Ms. Trotta, said, “It will be a close race, but we should know by the end of the night who the president will be for the next four years.”

Students returned to school the next day excited to discuss the national election they had watched on the news the evening before.
