During the holiday season, downtown Frankfort is traditionally illuminated with Christmas lights on and surrounding businesses.

But during Christkindl Weekend, the downtown had some special, additional lighting for a time thanks to the annual St. Nicholas Lantern Parade on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The parade, a Frankfort family tradition led by St. Nicholas himself, started at the on Kansas Street and more than 100 people--mostly parents, grandparents and children--marched to Breidert Green, glow stick-lighted lanterns in tow. At the green, the participants listened to two poems read by St. Nicholas and enjoyed cookies and other treats.
