It Takes A Village To Raise A Child

Thank You to the hard-working members of The District 157C Education Foundation!

It takes a village to raise a child.

Every day I am amazed at what my 8 year old daughter has learned at school that day.  At such a young age, she has grasped so many difficult concepts.  Concepts that I haven’t taught her.  Instead, I send her to school on the yellow school bus – bright eyed with a mind eager to learn – and trust that the Frankfort School District is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.  Teach.  Educate.  Inform.

And I feel so fortunate.  So fortunate her teachers have instilled a love of learning in her youthful mind.  So lucky that I live in an area with a strong school system.  Incredibly blessed that her teachers are caring and exceedingly hard-working.  And it makes me understand the old adage, “It takes a village to raise a child.”

This is why many of you have seen so many (and I do realize that I have put out a lot of posts on this subject lately!) Langlois Insurance Agency posts to donate $1 to the Frankfort School District 157C Education Foundation’s Fundraiser.  Or –
even better – pop into our office with your spare change for the piggy bank.  We want – in some small way – help this “village”.  Help these children thrive.  Help this Foundation reach its fiscal goal to assist our children’s education.

So – Thank You – for reading our posts, “Liking” our Facebook page, and putting your spare change in the piggy bank.  Because, at the end of the day, we are all
part of this “village”.

The Education Foundation was formed to enrich the education of 157c children by supplementing resources currently available to the District. The Foundation raises funds to support teacher-written grants for projects and materials that directly benefit our children in the areas of art, literacy, technology, math, physical education, science, social studies, and character-building programs.  To date,
The Education Foundation has contributed over $1,000,000 to our schools!
Together with the District and the community, the Foundation continues to raise
funds through annual events.
