Lincoln-Way North High School Honors Outstanding Students
The honor societies induction ceremony was the first ever for Lincoln-Way North High School.

Lincoln-Way North High School held its first ever honor societies induction ceremony.
The Nov. 19 ceremony was held in the fine arts facility and welcomed 189 students into four national honorary societies; La Societe Honoraire de Francais, Science National Honor Society, La Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, and the National Honor Society.
Principlal Mark Cohen welcomed over 600 family members and friends of the inductees to the prestigious ceremony.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by student leaders of the four national honor societies; Zubair Farooqui, Alexander Littleton, John Scott and Elizabeth Warkocki. The National Anthem was sung by eight of the Madrigal Singers including Brandy Benak, David Blakeman, Molly Ciszek, Pamela Joy Doody, Thomas Gaertig, John Larson, Delaney Schmidt, and Ali Stachowicz.
“On stage with us tonight are nearly 200 of Lincoln-Way North’s finest students, each being welcomed into one or more of our four honors societies for their leadership, dedication, and academic excellence,” Cohen said. “Academic success is paramount at Lincoln-Way North. Our students take their time in the classroom seriously, enrolling in a wide variety of rigorous courses. They put the time in day in and day out, knowing that their efforts will pay dividends for them in the future.”
The Lincoln-Way high schools traditionally recognize a community member each year for their service and dedication to the community and schools.
“This year the sponsors and students in the honors societies have decided to honor retired principal Dr. Michael Gardner in a way that will carry on his legacy for years to come. The community award will be named after him,” Cohen said.
