From the Lincoln-Way High School District:
The Rotary Club
of New Lenox got a first look at the Lincoln-Way Central Madrigal Singers
during a special performance at their weekly Thursday morning meeting.
The Central Madrigals were guests this morning and gave a short preview of the many songs they will be singing at the 44th Annual Madrigal Dinners beginning on Thursday, Dec. 12. In support, the members of the Rotary Club have purchased seats for three tables for the opening performance.
Tickets are selling quickly for the 44th Annual Madrigal Dinners at Lincoln-Way Central.
“The students sounded wonderful, said Rotary club President Doug Hoag. "The songs are sung in multiple harmonizing parts. I am very excited to see the entire show.”
An area holiday tradition since 1970, the Madrigal dinners feature a Renaissance-style evening of food and music.
“Featured are the Madrigal Singers and Actors, in full period costume, the Madrigal Brass, and members of the LWC Guitar Studio," said Mike Bultman, the choral director at Central. "The meal is a fully catered dinner and includes the famous wassail and figgy pudding. It is a fun family tradition in the Lincoln-Way area.”
The Madrigal Dinners will be December 12, 13 and 14 in the Lincoln-Way Central Fine Arts Center. The shows begin at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $28 and reservations may be made by calling 815-462-2100. Seats fill up quickly because of high demand.
